For the first time, this book will bring together all ~540 species of freshwater and diadromous fishes known from Anatolia, the Maghreb, the lower and middle Nile, the southern Caucasus and the Middle East south to Yemen and east to Iran. All species will be shown in colour pictures, will be diagnosed and identification keys will be provided. Also their biology and ecology will be described. Maps will show the distribution and the conservation status of each species will be evaluated according to IUCN criteria.
